YW CALGARY & THE WILLOW PARK CHARITY CLASSIC BREAK GROUND ON INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND

April 4, 2023 – Calgary, AB – As the recipient of the 2023 Willow Park Charity Golf Classic, YW Calgary is excited to break ground on Willow Park, an inclusive playground in the secure courtyard of the YW Sheriff King Home Redevelopment site designed to ensure every child in the shelter and affordable housing complex can play, make friends and heal. This completely accessible play space will include physical, emotional and behavioural elements to help children learn how to navigate the world around them in a way that they can understand.

For children, play is an important factor of the healing process and playgrounds, like Willow Park, allow them to come together and find moments of joy in their lives. Once complete, the playground will be the focal point of the courtyard for families and become a space where children of all abilities can play together and experience the joy of being outside.

The installation of the play structures will take place this summer as courtyard work on the YW Sheriff King Home Redevelopment site commences.
