***MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY***
One door opens many. Media are invited to the opening of the new Vermilion Energy/YWCA of Calgary Employment Resource Centre (ERC).
WHAT: The Employment Resource Centre will assist vulnerable women who are struggling with poverty to build life skills, job search techniques, resume writing skills and connections with education partners and employers. The goal is to support women to establish and maintain employment.
WHY: When women who are struggling with poverty and exclusion are supported with the skills and resources they require to find and maintain employment, they are able to move beyond a vulnerable situation and become self-sufficient. The ERC will provide those skills and opportunities to the hundreds of women who are currently accessing YWCA housing and support programs.
